Sanika is an illustrator, cartoonist and reportage artist working between New York City and Mumbai. Her work explores the theme of processing and documenting human relationships through mixed media drawings on location. She is inspired by everyday life, instances of emotional connection between strangers, and by the conversations people have over food. She is also interested in the diversity of food in New York, and how food experiences in the city are influenced by seasons, pop culture, immigration and gentrification. She is currently working on a graphic novel which will be her first graphic novel to be released through a small-press publisher, Tiger Bee Press!
