My graphic novel Sukka Bombil, is an autobiographical memoir that explores how my complicated relationship with my grandmother who was my primary caretaker, mirrored itself in my relationship with food. It conveys this story by recounting memories of conversations I had over meals while growing up in India. It explores how these conversations translated into the associations I formed with eating and nourishment, and continue to influence my relationships as an adult.
